Skill Share Socials

A chance for local residents to share and develop their creative skills

The Collier Row Skill Share Socials project is a year-long creative residency by Havering-based creative Lucy McDonald, funded by Havering Changing and supported by our steering group, The Romford Change Makers.

At the start of 2023, Lucy hosted various drop-in events across Collier Row to discover what skills people had to offer their community and what skills they wanted to learn. From there, Lucy has created a varied programme of ‘Skill Share Socials’ which aim to offer regular opportunities for locals to exchange, share and develop their skills together. Lucy and other Havering-based creatives will bring their skills to the table too!

Skills and activities to be explored include crochet, using (digital design tool) Canva, keep fit, floral headband making and drypoint printing. These sessions will be informative, inclusive and informal - offering a unique opportunity for locals to connect, try something new and learn from those that are well practiced in their skill.

All materials and food is provided at sessions, so please let us know of any allergens if booking tickets. Also, please let us know if you have any access requirements.

Venue: Sapphire Jubilee Community Centre

Forthcoming Socials: Saturday 12th August, Saturday 2nd September, Saturday 14th October

Please note: Skill Share Socials are FREE and open to anyone who lives or works in Collier Row. Under 18s welcome but must be accompanied by and adult at all times.
